01 / Our Privacy Philosophy (Amanah)
At Salah Momin, we believe privacy is not just a feature—it is a sacred trust (Amanah). Our application is engineered from the ground up to operate with zero collection of personal identity information. We provide the tools for your spiritual growth without ever needing to know who you are.
Privacy by Design
Salah Momin follows a "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. We do not maintain user accounts, we do not track your behavior, and we do not have a centralized server to store your private spiritual data.
02 / Data Collection & Usage
The following table outlines how we handle various types of data. Salah Momin does not sell or monetize any user data.

03 / System Permissions & APIs
To provide its core functionality, Salah Momin utilizes several advanced Apple frameworks. These permissions are handled securely by iOS:
Apple Family Controls (Screen Time)
We use the FamilyControls and ManagedSettings APIs to allow you to select apps you wish to block during prayer windows. Important Privacy Note: Apple provides Salah Momin with opaque tokens representing your apps. We never see the names or contents of the apps you choose to block.
CoreLocation
We use CoreLocation to determine your approximate coordinates. This is used exclusively for local astronomical calculations of prayer times. This data is processed locally and is never transmitted to any external server.
Local Notifications
All reminders and alerts are scheduled 100% on your device. We do not use remote push notification servers (APNs), ensuring your notification schedule remains private.
04 / Data Storage & Security
Your data stays where it belongs: in your hands.
On-Device Storage
Your prayer history and settings are stored using SwiftData with system-level file protection. This data is only accessible when your device is unlocked.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is transferred to your Private CloudKit Database. This container is managed by Apple and is tied to your Apple ID. We (the developers) have zero access to this data, and it is encrypted both in transit and at rest by Apple.
05 / Third-Party Disclosure
We do not share, sell, or trade your information with any third parties. Salah Momin contains:
- Zero Advertisements
- Zero Analytics Tracking (No Google Analytics, no Firebase)
- Zero Third-Party SDKs that collect user data
06 / Your Rights & Control
You have absolute control over your data.
- Right to Deletion: You can wipe all local data instantly via the "Delete All Data" button in Settings.
- Right to Portability: Since we don't have your data, we cannot "give" it back to you—you already own it on your device.
- Transparency: Our technical implementation is designed to be as transparent as the system APIs allow.
